How AI plotted an interstellar journey to Alpha Centauri

The Fermi Explorer Mission, funded with $58 million from Breakthrough Energy, will launch a solar-powered probe by late 2029 that follows a novel trajectory devised by PSI’s AI system Get Physics Done. The AI-generated path brings the craft close to the Sun, using four-fold solar illumination to boost thrust while keeping the payload under 1 kg, enabling a 15-million-dollar mission that could reach Alpha Centauri in up to 80,000 years.
