How Dactyl Works
Dactyl compiles iOS SwiftUI apps to WebAssembly, rendering native-looking previews in browsers via Canvas2D. It re-implements SwiftUI and key Apple frameworks, emitting draw commands that a JavaScript host renders, while a reconciler optimizes layout and state across edits. On Android, the same engine is compiled to a shared library and driven by Jetpack Compose via JNI, mounting native widgets at identical coordinates as the web preview.
