How to add your driver's license to Apple Wallet and where you can use it

Apple Wallet now supports adding a digital driver’s license by scanning both sides of the card, taking a selfie, and authenticating with Touch ID, Face ID, or passcode. The encrypted license can reside on only one iPhone or Apple Watch. The feature is available in 17 U.S. states and territories, including Arizona, California, and Virginia. Venues that accept digital IDs can present the license, with data shared only after user approval. North Carolina will enable digital IDs in early 2027, and Utah is expected to join soon.
