How to check your PC's hard-drive health

Windows 11 displays SSD health in Settings → Storage → Advanced storage settings → Disks & volumes, showing estimated remaining life, spare capacity, temperature, and low-capacity or read-only alerts. PowerShell’s Get-PhysicalDisk reports HealthStatus (Healthy, Warning, Unhealthy, Unknown). Third-party tools like CrystalDiskInfo read SMART data and classify drives as Good, Caution, Bad, or Unknown. If a drive reports Warning, Unhealthy, or Bad, back up data immediately and run manufacturer diagnostics such as Seagate SeaTools or Samsung Magician to confirm problems before replacement.
