How to factory reset your Steam Deck

A factory reset on the Steam Deck removes all internal data and restores the device to its original out-of-the-box state, optionally reinstalling SteamOS. The reset can be triggered from Settings → System → Advanced → Reset to Factory State, or via recovery mode by holding Power and “...” until the SteamOS menu appears and selecting “ERASE USER DATA FROM DECK.” The process takes 10–15 minutes and does not affect a microSD card if removed beforehand.
