How to properly clean and sanitize your secondhand tech finds

Unplug the device, wipe it with a microfiber cloth, and avoid chlorine, peroxide, solvent, or ammonia cleaners; suitable cleaners are Whoosh! or Tech2Clean. Remove debris from crevices, use compressed air, then a cotton swab with a few drops of isopropyl alcohol, allowing full air-dry. Finish with a portable UV sanitizer such as Phonesoap or Homedics for phones, earbuds, smartwatches, keys, and similar small gadgets.
