How to set up ChatGPT's parental controls to protect your teen

OpenAI’s ChatGPT for Teens automatically enrolls users under 18, requiring parents to link their accounts to activate parental controls via Settings → Parental controls and the child’s email or phone. Controls—Reduce sensitive content, Improve model, Reference saved memories, Codex network access, Cloud browser, and Voice Mode—are enabled by default. Upon the teen’s 18th birthday, OpenAI notifies both parties, disables the controls, and unlinks the accounts.
