How to sideload apps onto Android Auto

Sideloading lets Android Auto users install unofficial apps—CarStream for YouTube, AAMirror for screen mirroring, and Fermata Auto for video, IPTV, and browsing—by enabling Developer Mode, then installing the Android Auto Apps Downloader (AAAD) from GitHub. The process avoids rooting but bypasses Google’s security checks, and Google reports sideloaded sources contain over 50 × more malware. Using video features while driving may violate laws; they should be used only when the vehicle is parked.
