How we configured OpenTelemetry logs in Rails

The team added OpenTelemetry observability to a Rails app by installing the SDK, logs SDK, OTLP exporters, and instrumentation gems, then configuring the exporter endpoint and token via OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_* environment variables and initializing the SDK with `c.use_all`. They bypassed the OpenTelemetry Collector, sending logs directly to Grafana Cloud, and verified the setup locally using `OTEL_LOGS_EXPORTER=console`. During integration they identified two deviations in the Ruby SDK—missing base-path handling and another spec-non-compliant behavior—and contributed upstream fixes.
