Hyundai has gained more US market share this decade than any carmaker

Hyundai Motor Group has increased its U.S. market share from 8.4% in 2020 to 11.8% in the first half of 2024, a 50% sales rise that makes it the fourth best-selling automaker in the country. The company is investing $26 B through 2028 to build at least 80% of its American sales domestically, centering on a $7.6 B Metaplant in Georgia that could expand production to 700,000–800,000 units by 2028.
