I accidentally logged phone calls to military bases

The author bought the expired nameserver ns.enum.org.uk for €5, gaining control of the ENUM zones 0.9.2.e164.arpa, 6.4.2.e164.arpa and 7.4.2.e164.arpa, which correspond to the telephone prefixes +290, +246 and +247 (Saint Helena, British Indian Ocean Territory and Ascension Island). By pointing those zones to his own servers, he intercepted DNS queries that carriers use to locate SIP endpoints, causing hundreds of thousands of calls to military bases in those territories to be logged on his infrastructure.
