ICE plans to buy Boston Dynamics robot dogs without running a competition

ICE intends to purchase a fleet of Boston Dynamics Spot robots for $1 million-$2 million, citing use for inspection, situational awareness, and hazard assessment in dangerous or hard-to-reach areas, and will acquire them without competition under FAR Subpart 13.5 as a firm-fixed-price, commercial-off-the-shelf procurement. The solicitation, posted on 27 August, targets Fort Benning, Georgia, with delivery expected by the end of the fiscal year and contract performance through April 2027.
