ID verification giant IDScan confirms data breach with more than 150 million driver’s licenses stolen

IDScan confirmed that hackers accessed its cloud storage and stole driver’s license data for more than 150 million people in the United States and Canada, including full names, license numbers and other government ID numbers such as passports. The breach, first reported by Brian Krebs on September 1, also exposed photos and records of high-profile individuals, prompting investigations by the Pentagon and the FBI.
