If a Tesla Cybercab fleet were profitable, Tesla wouldn't sell you one

Tesla is offering businesses to buy Cybercab vehicles for its Robotaxi network, promising a revenue split that could yield up to $30,000 annual gross profit per car. Dutch leasing firm MisterGreen purchased more than 4,000 Teslas, faced severe depreciation, and filed for bankruptcy in December 2025 after losing $40 million when the expected robotaxi earnings did not materialize. Tesla retains ownership of the software, dispatch, and pricing, keeping high-margin earnings while transferring capital costs and depreciation risk to fleet buyers.
