If Amazon doesn’t know how to eliminate carbon emissions, then who does?

Amazon’s chief sustainability officer, Kara Hurst, admits the company lacks a definitive plan to reach its net-zero carbon emissions goal by 2040. Despite maintaining a 42-gigawatt clean energy portfolio, Amazon is simultaneously developing a 7.65-gigawatt natural gas plant to power AI data centers, which could emit 33 million tons of carbon dioxide annually.
