Inertia co-founder Jeff Lawson’s next big bet is fusion: Go inside it at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026

Jeff Lawson, Twilio co-founder, became CEO of Inertia, a fusion-energy startup. Inertia raised $450 million in a Series A led by Bessemer Venture Partners with GV participation. The company builds laser systems and mass-manufactures fusion fuel targets at a 50,000-sq-ft headquarters in Livermore, California. It has hired former Apple, Corning, and Waymo executives to strengthen its supply chain. Lawson will speak at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 about applying his software-startup experience to Inertia’s talent strategy, milestone setting, and capital-intensive engineering challenges.
