JD Power says 35% of passenger screens have never been used

JD Power surveyed 68,084 owners and found that 35% of vehicles equipped with a passenger screen have never been switched on, and only 6% use it every drive. The study reported 21.3 problems per 100 vehicles for infotainment systems with passenger screens, while features such as smart ignition, climate control and driver preferences had the highest satisfaction and fewest issues. Euro NCAP’s new protocol awards points for physical controls on nine functions, and since 7 July the EU requires a driver-distraction-monitoring camera in all new cars.
