Joby Aviation completed a fully autonomous flight from California to North Carolina

Joby Aviation flew a converted Cessna Caravan from Buchanan Field Airport, CA, to Dare County Regional Airport, NC, covering 3,199 miles. The aircraft performed taxiing, takeoff, cruising, and landing without an onboard pilot. Remote supervision occurred from Joby’s headquarters and Shaw Air Force Base. Joby plans a westward return with stops in Raleigh, Salt Lake City, and Portland. The flight demonstrates the company’s autonomous system can be integrated into existing aircraft for commercial freight, emergency response, or defense logistics.
