John Deere launches JD, an AI assistant that answers questions from a farm’s own data

John Deere introduced JD, an AI assistant embedded in its Operations Center platform that answers plain-language queries using a farm’s own machine and field data, such as fuel use comparisons, planting singulation, and sprayer productivity. The rollout for selected U.S. customers includes a ten-point Farmer Data Commitment pledging data ownership, non-sale, and the ability to block third-party access, aligning with EU Data Act requirements that prohibit manufacturers from deriving economic insights from farm data.
