Kawasaki signed an AI chip deal with a startup the Pentagon backs

Kawasaki Heavy Industries has signed a teaming agreement to embed EdgeCortix’s AI processors in its Japanese aerial-defence platforms, with the partnership slated to run from 2026 through 2028. EdgeCortix, a fabless semiconductor company based in Kanagawa, will supply the chips, while Kawasaki’s defence and aerospace division is overseen by Hideaki Nishimoto.
