Launch HN: Nori Robotics (YC S26) – A low-cost humanoid robot for development
Nori Robotics’ $1,688 bimanual mobile robot has 19 DOF, two 7+1 DOF arms each lifting 1.5 kg, a 55 kg telescoping lift, differential-wheeled base, four 720p RGB cameras, 2D lidar, dual microphones, a 432 Wh battery and an on-board Raspberry Pi 5. It achieves sub-$2 k cost by using high-ratio servos instead of QDD motors and a wheeled chassis, and ships with an open SDK, browser-based simulator, and 3D-printable repair files. The hardware already performs cleaning, drawer opening, shelf restocking, and beer-pouring tasks.
