Lawmaker demands federal action after 43 Tesla drivers were filmed asleep at the wheel

U.S. Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi has pressed the Transportation Department for a response by 30 September on how regulators will address incidents where Tesla drivers fell asleep while Full Self-Driving was engaged. He highlighted 43 recorded cases and asked whether Tesla’s interior camera remains functional when drivers wear sunglasses or otherwise obscure their faces.
