LG’s new OLED breakthrough can boost display lifespans

LG Display introduced FLiPP (FMM-Less innovative Pixel Patterning) at IMID 2026, a manufacturing method that eliminates the fine-metal-mask step used in conventional RGB OLEDs. By removing the mask, the process yields panels that are brighter, more energy-efficient, and have substantially longer lifespans while supporting virtually any screen size.
