LG's new OLED manufacturing tech can make panels bigger and brighter

LG unveiled FLiPP (FMM-less Innovative Pixel Patterning), a manufacturing process that replaces fine-metal masks with direct RGB stencil printing and photolithographic “erase” steps, enabling OLED panels that are 1.6 × brighter, last 2.4 × longer, and consume 13% less power. The method removes size and resolution limits, improves glass utilization by up to 64%, and will be introduced first in tablets and monitors before expanding to wearables and ultra-large TVs.
