The MacBook models that macOS 27 Golden Gate does not support

macOS 27 Golden Gate supports Apple silicon but excludes all Intel-based MacBooks, meaning any MacBook with an Intel processor must remain on macOS 26 Tahoe. The new OS adds an AI-centric Siri overhaul, Liquid Glass, AI photo editing, Safari tab organization, and performance boosts, but requires more storage than Tahoe. Apple silicon models from 2021 onward, plus 2020 M1 MacBook Pro and Air, can upgrade, while Intel Macs will receive security updates until September 2028.
