Malaysia weighs Huawei chips for sovereign AI, Bloomberg reports

Malaysia is leaning toward Huawei silicon to power its national AI initiative, marking the first foreign government to select Chinese AI accelerators over U.S. counterparts. Washington warned last year that purchasing these specific chips could breach U.S. export-control rules. The deliberations were reported by Faris Mokhtar, Mackenzie Hawkins and Niki Koswanage.
