MapQuest refused to rename Lake Ontario to “Lake America” despite a Trump executive order, and its iOS app surged to No. 1 in U.S. navigation rankings, reaching No. 4 overall in the U.S. App Store and No. 2 in Canada. Sensor Tower reported 184 000 global and 162 000 U.S. downloads in the week of Aug 24, a ten-fold week-over-week increase, with daily U.S. downloads up 128% from Aug 26-30.
