Mark Zuckerberg buys a 440-acre Irish estate in County Waterford

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan bought Strancally Castle, an 1830 gothic house on a 440-acre County Waterford estate, for an estimated €20-30 million in an off-market transaction. They are the third tech billionaire to acquire a large Irish country estate in five years, following Stripe co-founder John Collison’s 1,100-acre Abbey Leix purchase and James Dyson’s Ballynatray acquisition, as Meta expands its Dublin operations, the company’s European hub and primary GDPR regulator.
