Meta agrees to heavy restrictions on teen users in major lawsuit settlement
Meta settled a lawsuit with 29 state attorneys general by committing to an age-verification system that independent testers must audit, limiting false-positive rates to no more than 10% for 16-17-year-olds and 3% for 13-15-year-olds. The settlement also requires Meta to let teens disable personalized feeds and to suspend push notifications for those users.
