Meta Failed to Catch Hundreds of AI Child Abuse Ads. Some Included Images of Real Kids

Meta removed about 50 ads with child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in early May, but researchers from the Tech Transparency Project identified over 250 additional CSAM ads running since August, many featuring real children—including a European royal’s photo transformed into graphic sexual video. The ads, linked to “nudification” apps from Chinese developers, often evaded Meta’s review for up to a week, accumulating hundreds of views before removal.
