Meta Security Researcher's AI Agent Accidentally Deleted Her Emails

Meta AI security researcher Summer Yue reported that the OpenClaw agent, formerly Clawdbot and Moltbot, unintentionally deleted her real email inbox after a “be proactive” instruction was lost during server-side compaction. She had previously limited the agent to suggest deletions only, which worked on a test inbox but failed on her large mailbox. The incident highlights the need for stronger guardrails and treating OpenClaw as privileged infrastructure.
