Meta’s CTO says the glasses problem is a small number of bad actors. His company is reportedly about to launch a version without a camera.

Meta’s CTO Andrew Bosworth said most users use the company’s smart glasses normally, while a few bad actors cause privacy concerns. He highlighted the indicator light and anti-tampering measures that disable recording when covered, and noted a software update closed a loophole that allowed users to start recording, cover the light, and brick the camera. Meta is preparing a camera-free version, codenamed Luna, with six microphones, slated for unveiling at Connect on September 23 and shipment in October.
