Meta's teen safety commitments are US-only (for now)

Meta has agreed to enforce new teen safety rules only in the United States, as part of a settlement with dozens of states over child privacy and addiction concerns. The policies impose a two-hour default daily limit and a nighttime block for users aged 13-17 on Facebook and Instagram, and allow parents to set a non-algorithmic feed as default. Meta will monitor compliance and may tighten limits if TikTok and YouTube adopt similar measures.
