Mice, a Caved-In Ceiling, and Cloudy Water: The GSA’s New Office Is Falling Apart

About 1,600 GSA employees were transferred from the F-Street office to the Theodore Roosevelt Federal Building, where they found mice, a collapsed bathroom ceiling, and a drainage system requiring 5–10 seconds of flow to clear. The move follows departmental efficiency cuts, a plan to sell hundreds of federal buildings, and a hiring surge for roughly 400 staff. GSA says occupants will stay in the OPM-occupied building until December 2028 while the former F-Street site undergoes extensive renovations.
