Microsoft announces Project Zenith, a clutter-free Windows experience meant to entice developers

Microsoft unveiled Project Zenith, a “ready-to-code” Windows experience that strips away typical UI clutter and enables developers to run 30-billion-parameter AI models locally without metering, provided the machine has 64 GB of RAM and high memory bandwidth. The first rollout will ship on AMD’s Ryzen AI Halo mini-desktop, with additional hardware slated for later release, and includes pre-installed tools for multiple languages, full file-extension visibility, and hidden-file access enabled by default.
