Microsoft Blames Windows Gaming Issues on RGB Lighting Devices

Microsoft said the August 11 2026 Windows update KB5121003 crashes, freezes, EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION errors and triggers unexpected restarts in games such as ARC Raiders, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls and The Finals on Windows 11 24H2/25H2. The issue traces to RGB-lit peripheral drivers that install inpoutx64.sys. Embark Studios confirmed the kernel-driver change caused the problem and advised deleting the service and removing inpoutx64.sys as a temporary workaround until Microsoft issues a fix.
