Microsoft finally puts a dollar figure on Azure, and narrows what Azure means

Microsoft will now disclose Azure revenue each quarter, reporting $29.42 billion for the June quarter—a 42% increase and roughly 33% of total Microsoft revenue. The company’s reporting structure shifts from three to two segments, redefining Azure as a purely consumption-based platform and infrastructure business. The European Commission’s preliminary decision to designate Azure as a gatekeeper under the Digital Markets Act aligns with this narrower definition, with a final ruling expected later this year.
