Microsoft tests fix for latest hours-long Outlook outage

Microsoft confirmed a multi-hour outage of Exchange Online on Monday, causing email delays, authentication errors, mailbox search failures and other disruptions for Outlook users. The company traced the problem to an authentication component, began testing a remediation on part of its infrastructure, and said it would expand the fix if successful. As of 5 p.m. ET the issue remained unresolved.
