Microsoft tried to ban "Microslop", and six months later it has given up

Microsoft blocked the nickname “Microslop” in its Copilot Discord server in March, issuing warnings and locking sections after users circumvented the filter. Six months later the block was lifted; the word now appears in the general channel and over 200 recent posts. The removal coincided with Microsoft’s broader effort to limit Copilot entry points, including removing the Copilot button from Snipping Tool, renaming it “Writing tools” in Notepad, and scaling back auto-install of the Microsoft 365 Copilot app.
