More Americans oppose police license plate cameras than support them: survey

A YouGov survey of 20,000 U.S. adults found 46% oppose, and 38% support, Flock’s license-plate-reader cameras, reversing last year’s majority support. The company operates over 120,000 readers nationwide and has faced backlash after police misuse reports, prompting many communities to reject or cancel contracts. Flock’s CEO urged a “compromise” amid rising vandalism, while critics argue its new safeguards do little for civil-liberty protections.
