More than half of adults in U.S. say they lack basic statistical understanding
A survey of 1,000 U.S. adults found that 25% report no understanding of statistics and 37% have only limited familiarity, while just over a quarter have learned some statistics in school. Despite low literacy, 90% say they would rely more on statistical information if they understood it better, and free resources such as Penn State’s STAT 200 course are available for self-education.
