Musk, Luckey and Gingrich get 120 days to map America’s future wars

Elon Musk, Palmer Luckey, and Newt Gingrich will co-direct Project Meridian, a Pentagon study due 28 January 2027 that identifies technologies—AI, autonomy, directed energy, robotics, biotechnology—needed for future U.S. wars across all domains, from subterranean to cislunar. The unclassified report will include a classified annex and will guide development, testing, and fielding of these capabilities, with the Joint Staff and all service branches expected to integrate their research.
