Musk’s faster path to more gas turbines comes with pollution problem
SpaceX will manufacture its own single-crystal, internally-cooled gas-turbine blades and vanes, aiming to reduce turbine deployment time by up to 18 months and support natural-gas plants needed for 100 GW / year of solar capacity. The effort addresses a global shortage of components produced by only four firms and could speed AI data-center power, while raising environmental and health-risk concerns cited in lawsuits and studies.
