.name Termination

The author registered neil.fraser.name and beverly.fraser.name in the .name third-level namespace, using them for a website, email, and IoT APIs. Verisign’s proposal to eliminate the entire .name third-level hierarchy was approved by ICANN on 28 July 2026, causing the domains to expire in February despite registration through 2040. The termination will delete the website, email and IoT services, and could allow others to acquire the now-vacant second-level fraser.name and hijack the author’s accounts.
