NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is now on its way to study the 'dark universe'

NASA’s Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launched on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy from Kennedy Space Center, deploying its solar panels and sunshade and beginning instrument activation. It will image sky areas 100 times larger than Hubble, transmit 1.4 TB of data daily, and measure light from a billion galaxies while probing dark matter, dark energy, exoplanets and planet-forming disks, with first images expected in early 2027.
