Nintendo's latest sale is 'made possible' by the tariff refunds it's hoarding

Nintendo’s Customer Appreciation Sale begins September 13, giving 30% off digital games, bundles, DLC, physical titles, Amiibo, accessories, and merchandise on the eShop, Nintendo Store, and other retailers. The discount is funded by roughly $300 million in U.S. tariff refunds that Nintendo retained. The company also recently raised Switch 2 prices in the United States, Canada, and Europe due to market-condition changes tied to tariffs.
