Not the GameCube, not the Wii U: This was Nintendo's most unsuccessful console

Nintendo’s Virtual Boy, released in August 1995 and discontinued by early 1996, sold only 770,000 units, making it the company’s lowest-selling console compared with the Wii U’s 13.6 million. Its binocular stand required users to lean forward, caused eye strain and nausea, and relied on six AA batteries or an optional wall adapter. The system’s awkward ergonomics, confusing dual D-pad controller, and single-player focus contributed to its rapid market failure.
