NVIDIA is buying Hugging Face for $12.93 billion

NVIDIA is acquiring the AI model platform Hugging Face for $12.93 billion to consolidate its influence over both hardware and open-source software. The platform currently hosts three million models for 18 million users and 200,000 companies. CEO Jensen Huang pledged that the service will remain an open, independent ecosystem following regulatory approval.
