Nvidia has teamed with eight Australian data-centre and cloud companies—Firmus, Sharon AI, IREN, Megaport, ResetData, CDC, NextDC and AirTrunk—to create AI-factory capacity of up to 2 GW by 2027. IREN’s Bundey site will supply 800 MW, CDC already runs over 550 MW and plans an additional 800 MW. The program combines facilities, compute, networking, software and reference designs on Nvidia’s DSX platform and CUDA ecosystem, focusing on sovereign AI workloads in Australia. No total capital investment, electricity source, or detailed rollout schedule has been disclosed.
