Nvidia talks to insurers about loans backed by its AI chips, FT reports

Nvidia is negotiating with insurers to share risk on loans secured by its AI chips, targeting smaller cloud providers that pledge the hardware as collateral. The company has supplied insurers with data on chip depreciation and future computing value and is collaborating with reinsurance broker Howden Re on potential structures. Insurers could further allocate risk to hedge funds and asset managers, treating AI infrastructure as an investable asset class.
